If you have successfully uploaded the dummy content you must have data in the Posts, Pages, Speakers, Sessions, etc…
You can check this by clicking on these sections of your Dashboard.
But note this is not enough, you must set the ‘Front Page Displays’ to ‘Home’ than latest blog posts via Settings->Reading. Also, please select Navigation Menu via Appearance->Menus->Manage Locations.
